I heard a sermon about prayer, and one thing the pastor said really stuck.  He said if we would spend just as much time praying about the situation as we do complaining about it, we would change the atmosphere of the problem.  This spoke to me personally because I am more pessimistic than optimistic.  We can change what the outcome is by praying and not complaining.  We may not always get what we are praying for, but we are still changing the atmosphere of the situation.
