As they were at the table eating, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, one of you eating with me here will betray me."

Jesus lays it out for us right here.  Twelve of his closest friends are with Him eating and Jesus says, "one of you will betray me." Two things, first, people will let you down.  Second some of those people are even considered good friends.  Be wise to who is in your circle and do not carry a high expectation of others.
