Judges 16:19-20 NIV
After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him. Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
I have read the story of Samson and Delilah many times. It is one of my favorites about a great strong warrior, a man of God since birth. But the thing that really hits home is he got so complacent that he was put to sleep easily, distracted by things in his life. Then it says that he did not know the Lord had left him. Oh, let us not get so comfortable with life that we are no longer in the presence of the Lord.
