Spoonful - 5/14

1 Samuel 16:7 NLT
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

What you see is not always what you get.
This verse tells me that things are not always what they seem.  You can make it look good on the outside, but God says it is what’s on the inside that matters.  That to me covers a wide array of things; people are not surface deep.  Like people look happy on the outside, but inside there is a war raging, or they may seem trustworthy but, in the end, they will throw you under the bus.  You know the saying…never judge a book by its cover.
